Simrad/Navico
I've got a Navico 5500 and a Navico 1800 (as a spare) that I use on the tiller of my '74 C27. (Navico was bought out by Simrad.) These two APs are one step up from the bottom of the line in Navico's tillerpilots. The 5500 has a wired remote, the 1800 is standalone. Both work great, and use the same mounts, although they do use different electrical connectors. I originally thought the remote was a gimmick of limited use, but now I find it's really helpful. It allows me to dial in the course I want to steer, or how many degrees I want to adjust the course, rather than changing it in 1 degree or 10 degree increments by pushing buttons on the pilot, like an Autohlem. Also allows me to read from the display the course that I'm set up to steer, and adjust course from anywhere in the after end of the boat, rather than having to get right on top of the pilot to see the buttons to make the changes. They mount in the cockpit so the pin on the shaft connects to the tiller about 18" in front of the rudderpost. Mine is mounted on the portside, just aft of the cockpit locker.
