I generally tie my inflatable to the deck ahead of the mast when cruising. But this makes it harder to get to the anchor, etc. I have thought about attaching the inflatable to the stern of the boat, sideways, with a couple of lines that go around the inflatable and secure against the transom. I have a 2004 H33. Anyone tried this? Pros, cons, etc.. Thanks

Michael, Yes, I have and it does work, have to fender the 'chaff' places that always come up. The KiWis have been doing this for lotta years with wide webbing. There is a commercial dealer that has a nifty set up that is copied, I'll look when I get back here, but you can do it, need to play with it, and makes it easy to deploy the sportboat. I cruised with mine on the foredeck too, right side up with the plug pulled, pump & some essentials lashed inside.

On The Stern

When cruising offshore I always carry my inflatable on the stern swim step in the manner you describe. I tie with a quick release knot so it will deploy easily in an emergency. It travels great this way

I do the same thing on my H3... alot easier than

hauling onto the foredeck and also I avoid scratching the top windows/hatch. abe

yes it works

I have a similar boat H33 2004. I got four D rings fitted to the inflatable in line with the hand holds and pushpit sides and fitted quick release adjusable straps. To haul aboard I attach the lower straps to the near side of the inflatable and use the paynter fed through the hand hold on the centreline to lever it up to the vertical position and then clip on the upper straps. Finally tighten all four and all is secure !

Dingy on Stern

Thanks to everyone for input. Sounds like four lines (two at hand holds, probably near midline of dingy) and two on either end of dingy (near push pits) is fairly common. Will give it a try the next time I am at the boat. Thanks.... Michael
