I was wondering where everyone runs the tie down straps when they have the boat on the trailer. I know that it's likely heavy enought that it's not going to move but I still would feel better with a couple of straps over the top. Currently I have two straps that go over the cockpit and attach to the trailer. But I dont' know if this is a good idea. I don't want to damage the fiberglass in the cockpit. Jason

You got it

I run the straps over the cockpit, towards the aft end. I believe they are just forward of the stern cleats and aft of where the strern rail seats attach to the hull. The hook ends of the straps go to a whole in the trailer frame near the rear of the trailer. At least that's what I do. Ron Mehringer h26 Hydro-Therapy

Ratcheting Tie Strap

I used a 3" wide ratcheting strap from WalMart. I ran it just underneath the forward side of the aft cleats. If you're concerned about the fiberglass, put a couple of caret scraps under the strap. Be sure to put a twist in the vertical run of the strap. Without the twist they vibrate quite a bit. I learned this hard way. The strap left marks on the hull after a 3 hour road trip. Jeff
