We are thinking about a mast track insert to handle our new fully battened mainsail. Does anyone have any comments on the Tides Marine "Strong Track"or comments about roller bearing car track systems? Thanks. Fair winds & smooth sailing, Lawrence Leonard 1990 Hunter35.5 "Elle & I"

We installed one on our 40.5 in 2000

We are very happy with it. The sail goes up easier and most important it comes down FAST! I never used the type with the cars and bearings, but the simplicity of this system is great. After 6 years of use, I do wish ther was an easy way to rinse out the track because I sense that there is a little dirt or salt deposits or "something" that does slow the sail a bit. In most cases the sail just drops to the deck but if there is almost no wind to flutter the sail just a little, it tends to stick a bit. Bottom line, I would buy it again.
