Thru-Hull handles

I am trying to replace some of my thru-hull handles. One has broken and others appear to be near so. My '91 37.5 came fitted with "King Gate 600" full-flow ball valves with blue handles. Yellow "Apollo" handles are available everywhere but they don't fit King Gate valves. We have asked Hunter to help us many times. After some prodding they came back with Combraco Corp. the maker of Apollo fittings. This was a no research answer since that company is their present supplier. Later they came up with Hillman Supply a major Florida plumbing supply house. These people never heard of King Gate but stated that we were not the first folks looking for them. Hunter had given Hillman's name out before and the Hillman guy I talked to said they never carried them. Has anyone ever had the need to replace these handles? Has anyone ever been successful?

King Brothers?

Did you check with King Brothers in California? They are certainly in that business. See "Related Link". I'd be considering a replacement with real seacocks though. :)

Take Ed's advice--get rid of the gate valves

and replace 'em with real ball-valve seacocks. If the handles have failed, can you be 100% certain the valves themselves won't fail and sink your boat?
