I do suspect a minor leakage from the thru-deck fittings that drains the deck from water. It seams to follow the hoses to a small extent - could be acceptable. But one of these hoses do passes thru the electrical central and if there will be some water it will than follow a wire all its way in to the breaker or what ever is in the end of it. Anyone redone the thru-deck fittings? How to do it? /Valen

Deck fittings...

Sailboat makers go to alot of trouble to build a deck thas tough and waterproof...then,they drill holes in it.Rebedding a deck fitting is'nt Rocket Science and its really not hard to do.Simply remove the fitting and COMPLETLY clean off the old sealant..cannot stress this too much as it will not allow new sealant to adhere properly..use wire brush or dremael tool to clean with as there is residue even when you cant see it.Then put down a bead of SilkO-Flex and reinstall fitting.Let set a day or so and your done.Dont do this if any chance of rain.Easy job..only takes 30-40 mins, depending on fitting location and type. Good Luck >>> David

Thru deck fittings

Valen If you have teak decks, the fitting is only a convenient place for the water to enter the cabin. The real source is the teak de-laminating from the fiberglass deck. If you do have teak decks I will be glad to relay my 20 year experience dealing with the problem on my '71 Mistral. If not, no sense boring you with the details. Bob
