On the 260 there is a through deck connection for the mast head light. I need something similar so that I can run radio coax to the top of the mast. Does anyone know of a fitting that will take coax and be able to join up each time I step the mast.

for an idea. http://www.sailboatowners.com/upload/display.tpl?folder=W73105569472&fno=17 I made a through deck conduit and run the cable straight to the back of the radio so my cable has only two connectors: one at the radio and one at the antenna. Each connector steals some of the signal delivered to the antenna, so you want to minimize them. Let me know if you have any more questions. Tom

simpole solution

Remember quick disconnect. Go to a marine store and get the 2 inch double female for thru deck applications plus the stainless steel cover cap. Hope this helps as this is the way we do our Hunter sailboats.

Crazy Dave's idea

I used the double female connector as Crazy Dave recommends and it works great. I mounted it alongside the mast light connector. I kept the hole in the fiberglass very close to the connector's O.D. and used 5200 sealer. I check it occasionally for leaks and it has worked great for two years with no leaks. This setup allows easy disconnect / connect for stepping the mast. Follow the directions carefully if you add the cable connectors yourself. Where is SPRING???

Just Like Ol Crazy Said

Mine has been like that for five years. I found the Gold Line brand connector I bought at Boat US was just a little bit longer than the one at West Marine. Looks like Boat US is discontinuing that line and had a bunch of its stuff marked down. May be the time to do it.I think there is a picture in the photo forum of my masthead and through deck setup.
