I'm interested in why the throttle UP direction (more fuel) is BACK on my 78 H30 with 2GMF.

When one pulls the throttle aft the rpms go UP.

HUH?

Is this something simple that I'm missing?

Thanks folks, as usual,

Rich

The cable action is probably somehow reversed in the pedistal since I don't think that can be reversed by mistake at the engine.. but it should be push forward to go faster .. I don't think that is the original engine so the installer probably made a mistake ..

If you stand facing aft, the throttle would be in correct direction. ;)
Perhaps you could mention the type throttle assembly you have.

I have an aversion to standing facing the stern...

The pedestal is a Merriman and I see no way to 'turn things around' in there.

It seems as though it would be difficult for the DPO to have installed (or had it installed) 'backwards'.

the problem is at the engine side. when they replaced engine they messed up. I f they did engine work they had no reason to fool with control in cockpit.

EXCELLENT Gary, thank you. I never bothered to reason that out.

I shall fabricate a method of resolving the issue.

Thanks folks,

Rich.

Rich, sorry man, did a search, looks like this Merriman pedestal is dinosaur. Seems there couple boats out there some form of problem or another with this pedestal. Good luck.

Gary was spot on.

Ken mentioned dino's, just like me so it's fitting.

It was as simple as turning over the bellcrank on the injector pump and relocating the clamp for the outer sheathing.

Problem solved. Thanks for your input folks.

Rich.
