We have had our H410 for four months now, and the throttle control has progressively lost friction to where it will no longer hold an RPM setting...the throttle slowly backs off and now has to be manually held in place. I have looked for a friction control but haven't located anything. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a cure? Any assistance would be appreciated. Mike Druet "Shibumi"

Should be by the engine

Don't have a 410, but on my 320 the little bugger is located close to the engine and I have tightened it once, but it needs to be tightend a little more. Basically all it does is pinch the cable cover to increase the friction on the cable underneath. In the archives are some discussion about adding/moving the tensioning device to the pedistal. Slipping Throttle

Had the same problem on my 1999 Model 340 with Yanmar engine. I moved the throttle cable stop clamp which is located on the throttle cable near the engine. I repositioned it on the cable inside the console near the throttle control which is far more effective without kinking the cable. Solved my problem. Check the forum archives for more on this subject.

Under compass

If you remove the compass, there should be a tension adjustment knob or screw on the trottle handle joint.
