My 2000 340 has always had a very hard to move throttle handle since it was new. I mean extremely difficult to move. So much so, it is often hard to control the boat in tight spaces when contant neutral to slight forward movement is needed, or reverse. Even the dealer could not fix this, we tried cable brakes, grease etc., but still hard.
I just want to replace the throttle handle with a new model. I believe it's from Edson but not sure.
Any advise as to what to replace this with and how hard a job is it?

Tahnks for the help.

Transmission Problem?

Is the throttle control still tight beyond the shift point? If not, the problem might be in the transmission. There could be a kink in the cable where it is difficult to see.

throttle cable

I have a problem with this also.I removed the compass and adjusted the alignment or the shart in relation to the cable and that helped. also where the shaft goes thru the pedestal body was lubricated and that helped. mine is not perfect and I believe I will call edson in Mass.for their advice. Re: throttle cable

Hi,

I am looking for schematic design for the Throttle and shifter assembly. Any hints on where I could find that???

Same Problem Accidental Repair

My '99 H310 had a very stiff throttle control lever. Tried adjustments and lubrication to no avail. My fuel shut off cable needed to be replaced and in the process I had to replace all of the wire ties on the run under the floor boards. I didn't cinch them down quite as tight as they were previously and the throttle was suddenly much easier to use. Throttle, transmission, and fuel shut off are all bundled.
