What kind of steering pedestal do you have? Does it back off when you make a turn or is it arbitrary? I'm not sure adjusting your cable length will solve your problem and will definitely affect you idle speed. I have an older Edson and I have a problem when turning maintaining throttle position. I found it is because the steering chain is too close to the throttle cable and it just so happens that the connection link is right next to the upper portion of the cable when going straight so when I turn it will affect throttle position. I have tried to fix it but I have discovered it will involve taking the whole thing apart. For now, I live with it. In my opinion, this model Edson is a VERY poor design. I'm also having trouble with the mounting brace/guide for throttle and transmission cables. It has come loose twice while I was out in the middle of the lake. A real pain in the butt to fix too. I am currently looking at replacing with another manufacturers design.Regards,Lysle
