I have the option of purchasing a three blade bronze replacement prop for $75.00. My boat has a 2 blade prop. Does it make sense to upgrade? What are the pros and cons of changing. I think the cost of the prop is very reasonable, but am I just wasting money in making a change? Your help is appreciated.

Why bother? :)

Mickey, I can only speak for what I have and that's a 2-blade on my L37. I can achieve full (3200)RPM's with it (indicates proper tuning/matching), brake to a stop, and can back up straight as an arrow with little prop walk. Motoring, I generally burn 1/2 gallon of fuel per hour @ 2200-2500 RPM. Unless someone else sees a better advantage, I'd save my money for another toy. :)

MAX PROP 3 BLADE IS BEST!

MAX-PROP 3 BLADE PSOPS HAVE WORKED VERY WELL ON THE 405, I AM NOT SO SURE IF THEY WORK ANY BETTER ON THE 376 THOUGH. I HAVE A HUNTER STANDARD 3 BLADE ON MY 376 SO I CAN'T REALLY COMMENT. I WOULD HOWEVER LOVE A MAX-PROP!!!! 3 BLADE.
