I am installing a shoot through the hull depth finder in my Hunter 280. What is the best path to thread a transducer cable from the bilge to the cockpit pedistal?

The job has probably already been made easy for you.
My H376 has a cable duct running under the floorboards from just ahead of the keel to under the bed in the aft cabin where there is an opening; and then on again to just before the rudder stock. From there the cable runs upwards to a port side aft locker and then forward again to the steering console via the removable floor panel for the steering gear.
It runs off the boat's centreline to pass outside of (stbd in my case) the engine.

This duct is not easy to locate and I only found mine by feeling around under the cabin floorboards. It is a white PVC tube approx 1½" diameter which passes through the various parts of the inner sub frame.
If your head will not go there then a mobile phone camera and a torch might do it!

Once found it sure made the job easy.
No reason to think your boat was not similarly endowed.

Thanks for the help, but unfortunately Hunter was not quite as nice for the smaller boat owners. I looked for a cable duct, but could not find one. However there are communication holes for water flow along the centerline where the bilge pumps are and the lead all the way to the stern of the boat where I can snake the cable up to the pulpit.
