Threaded Battery Post Repair?

Is this even possible? I twisted-off about 1/2 of the threaded brass post on an AGM battery when installing it yesterday. I foolishly didn't use a torque wrench! Thank goodness there was enough post left to install a single terminal lug with no flat or lock washer, and there are still a couple of exposed female threads at the top of the nut, i.e., the remaining post doesn't extend past the end of the nut; but, at least I can still use the battery.

Is there a method to repair of otherwise restore full post height to this battery?

(I didn't look very closely at the battery when this happened. It occurs to me now that it could be a brass stud turned into a tapped hole in the ground plate of the battery. Does that even make sense?)

Thanks,

jv

I wonder if someone makes a extended stud adapter that could be used or drill and tap it?

Knowing the battery manufacture might help?

I think Rick has this one right. You can Google 'battery stud extender' or 'battery terminal extender' and see various options. Not exactly certain if this is what you're looking for, so apologies if I've missed the mark. Good luck.

Thanks, but you and Rick are helpful, thanks. That will only work if the battery is such that a stud screws down into the terminal, and I'm not sure that's the case.
