Thoughts on new front end

I recently bought a new anchor to use as the main anchor (a rocna 20kg), and will definitively need to rearrange the front end of my boat so that this monster can fit correctly (see the pics). I also want to keep my bruce as a backup, so I had to think about the new design quite a lot. Here is what I think I'm gonna do, please feel free to comment on my design, as it's not final and any input would help in improving the design and avoid any flaws I may have missed.

The first picture is the actual setup with the 15kg bruce.
The second picture is the rocna fitting very well in the actual setup.
The third picture is what the front would look like with the two anchors (yeah right, no chance this will happen).
The last three pictures is the new stup I plan to built (using 1/4'' stainless plates an windline bow rollers).

Nice graphics.
Are you anchoring in the St. Lawrence mostly? Have you actually used the Rocna yet? You may want to try the Rocna for a bit, you may find you don't need any back-up.

Loading on the "bowsprit"?

Are you concerned about the loading on your bow platform extension (bowsprit)? I live 'down the river' from you in Nova Scotia and all I ever use is my 45 lb. Kingston Plow, sitting on the original bow roller on the stock Hunter bow design. Normally when I see platforms as long and large as yours, I see a jibstay from the top of the mast running down to the tip of the "bowsprit" with a bobstay running down to the bow somwhere near the water line. Perhaps you don't anchor through the roller, but use a chain hook with lines back through the bow chocks? Anyway, someone who can use AutoCAD as well as you do is probably well aware of the the engineering and the loads.

Yeah i'm kind of aware of the load implied (I'm a mechanical engineer), but since the current design has never been an issue I don't see the need to do any math on that one since the new anchor will be at about the same place than in the old setup. I forgot to mention that we are heading south in september, we are leaving from Montreal in direction of the Bahamas (via the intracoastal to New York). Otherwise the Bruce is quite enough in the St-Lawrence.

Btw this was done using CATIA V5, a lot more convenient than autocad when you work in 3d (but a little harder to master at first).
