Been seeing lots of references to an "Old Boat" magizine with lots of "restoration" articles mentioned here...

I went to the local book store and checked the Magazine rack and no luck...(small town not much selecton).

Went to Google for subscription info and now not sure if I'm looking for "This Old Boat" or "Good Old Boat" magazine...

Any help/preference please...

It's one of the best magazines out there with a lot of great features, not only about maintenance and refit but about the sailing lifestyle. And Karen, Jerry and the whole staff are fantastic people .

Great magazine. They have most all of their back issues on CD-ROM, too. Take a look around their website, and there should be a listing with the titles of all the articles.

I have pared down our subscriptions over the years, and nowadays have mainly Good Old Boat from this country and Practical Boat Owner from the UK.

That, and of course my monthly free copy of Latitude 38 !

Good Old Boat is by far my favorite magazine and the only sailing subscription I keep. A few of the other sailing magazines I will buy at Books A Million if the issue is of interest to me. Every issue of Good Old Boat is a winner.

Squidd,

Jerry and Karen are from Minneapolis and sail their C&C 30 in the Apostles. I'll introduce you if we are all in the same anchorage sometime!

Yep. The two mags I read religiously are Good Old Boat and Small Craft Advisor. You can't go wrong with either of them.

GOB is a great mag. I let my suscription lapse when we moved, then accepted an offer for Sail for next to nothing. But after looking at Sail every month, I'll probably be going back to GOB. There's something about the non-chalant manner that Sail talks about $500K boats that sort of puts me off. Yes, I'm sure it's a delightful boat. It costs more than two of my homes. It should be. Clearly for the 1 percent!

Id agree sail is well written and laid out and for rich guy s and dreamers
But good old boat is good and a little more realistic. Pacific yachting mag. Was good in the 70 and 80 till 95 or so then focus changed more to power boats..classic boats from the UK is also cool..
