Thinking of buying a S2 8m

My Mac 26 was wiped out in a tornado on may10. Inserting a link for your own interest.
Looks as a total loss. Found a 79 S2 8m for $6500. Don't know which model. Right now he has a engine problem. I o-haul motorcycles for a hobby.
What is the differences between the C & M models ??
Appears that they only made the 8 for one year>> How come ???
Any more input will be gratefully accepted

The m just means meters. There was an older 8.0A aft cockpit, then a newer 8.0B aft cockpit and and 8.0C with a center cockpit. The 8.0B was actually manufactured from 76-83 with 426 built, second only to the 9.2A for the most hulls S2 built of any one model / configuration. It is a slightly smaller version of the 9.2A and I am sure you will be happy with it if it is in good condition.

I have just purchased, an S2 8.0m boat. It it rigged for single handed sailing, and so far, havn't found much to complain about. I think that it is a very good boat and hope it will provide a number of years of fun and enjoyment.

I purchased a 1977 S2 8.0B last January. It is rigged for single handed sailing. We love it, havn't found much to complain about it eather. I think that it is a very well builded boat and should provide lots of years of fun and enjoyment.
