My wife and I are interested in the 460 3 cabin layout. We want to use it for cruising, but have heard that Hunter is not one of the better cruising boats. We would like to know if there are any changes the factory can make, or will we have to make them? All help will be greatly appreciated. Frank

What is Cruising?

Everyone's idea of what a cruise is... is different. If your are hopping up and down the coast, near shore and not sailing across oceans it would be a great boat. To sail oceans it would require modifications but you could still do it. Remember many have sailed the worlds oceans in 25 footers, but that doesn't make it right for you. Disregard the so called experts and figure out what you really want, need and can safely afford... then go for it and don't look back! Enjoy! Bob Knott H380

many hunters have done long distance blue water

Cruising. Under boat stories, is a detailed article about a Hunter 42 (I think) and a Hunter 450 that have been upgraded for that purpose. You could probably contact the writer if that would help. Also consider contacting Greg Emerson of Hunter. he may be able to direct you to names of parties that have done such cruising. Lastly read the archives. Warren H460 Millennium Magic
