Hi;We are thinking of buying a 1985 Hunter 25.5. Are there any inherent design faults or any specific problems that we should be aware of and look for? Thanks;Cam
Check out the owner reviews on this web site, Cliff had a 25.5 and thought highly of it, seems to be one of the better boats, good luck , do have a survey done , good Luck , Mike B
We bought our 25.5 w/ only an above the water-line survey. We really liked the boat and the way it sailed. We heard later that the 25.5 was very prone to blistering on the bottom. Therefore, we highly recommend a full survey, including the bottom. We lucked out and it was checked when sold (we moved on up) and everything was A-OK.For the $$$, it's a great investment you are sure to enjoy!
Well I don't know about the blistering problem. I had my 84' surveyed out of water and no delamination was found.DO have a survey done. The boat is fun to sail. The was certainly right for me. If you careful you can get a lot of boat for little $$.
It is a great boat, but if you have to transport it, it is very difficult to find a trailer available. I have one for sale in San Francisco simply because it is too much grief to get it to Lake Mead. Hughesfam@infowest.com
