My Owners Manual Very Helpful
The Owners Manual (an original, not a copy) for my 1988 H35 is very helpful. It provides drawings for wire runs and plumbing which is very useful. The manual is for all the Hunter production boats at the time so it includes wiring and plumbing plans for all of them - plus a lot of other information. The Original manual also has information about winterizing (not necessarily the most accurate but it is useful), the rig, sails, steering, etc.The larger the boat the more "systems" and equipment is on-board which makes a manual more useful. What I've done is to make my own electronic Owners Manual. The first step was to scan in the original Hunter manual, convert it with OCR to native file, Word 2000. Then I scanned in everything I could find about what I've bought and added on, which is a lot, and added it in too. Even included information on "supplies" such as Lanocoat, biocide, wax, 303 chemicals (for waterproofing Sunbrella), Trinidad bottom paint, etc. etc. Each item includes addresses, phone numbers, URLs, and e-mail addresses. Have other sections for Maintenance, Rig and Rigging, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Boat Gear, etc. Also included other useful items such as the Annual Haulout checklist so I can get all my stuff together. The original Hunter manual was, for me, a very useful starting point for making a better one.
