I have just recieved ownership of an island natical dodger for my 1989 Hunter 30t. After several phone calls to the company about where to screw in the frame mounts, I simply tried putting the dodger over the frame and wedge it between the hand rails to check the fit. It stunk! Is there anybody out there who has installed this particular dodger? thanks

Want to install one on my 30T

Hi, After you finish I would like to see the details on installing the dodger and where you got it from, and cost. Thanks Jim wharton jim.wharton@fnc.fujitsu.com

Island Nautical Dodger.

Should not be a problem. If you don't like it or it does not fit just call Karisa at the HOW site and they will make arrangements to take it back. That is the beauty of buying from SailboatOwners.com.

Catalina 36 IN dodger frame installation

I understand your frustration as I'm installing an Island Nautical dodger on my Catalina 36 right now. After a few phone calls to IN as well, I finally got the frame installed. I honestly don't know how your 30T compares to the deck layout of my Catalina 36, but it was necessary to compress the frame down about 8" to make it fit (it said as much in the instructions I received). I tied a line at the base of each side and by creating some purchase with a loop in the middle I was able to sufficiently compress the frame. It actually took three of us to install the frame. One to crank it down to size, and two others to hold it on the port and starboard sides for installation. Now we're working on installing the canvas in the appropriate position and haven't quite finished the job. If I have more information about my installation that might be helpful I'll pass it along.
