Got a friend who has the Captain software......

and he likes my Nobeltec software better. Try Nobeltec.com

I have both...

I like the Capt'n better for ease of use and interface with other electronics as well as all the maintenance and almanac data. The 3D option is outstanding. The software is used by the Navy, Coast Guard and NASA on thier recovery vessels that should speak for itself. That said, Nobletec seems to have a little better viewability regarding thier chart resolution but it varies from chart to chart. They are both good and I just got more proficient with the Capt'n so it is my default software. I have slightly older versions of both so it would be fair to compare the newer versions of each and see what works best for your own personal preference. You won't go wrong with either. my experience

I use the Capn and give them a strong recommendation for different reasons. I love the ease of use of the software but it turns out I bought an illegal used version of the software. When I asked for technical support, they asked for the name of the person I bought it from, the thought being that if he agree, the registration could be transferred to me. When I told them who I bought it from, they recongized the name as someone who had sold multiple illegal copies. They agreed that if I would buy an upgrade (for only $80), they would make me a legal user. This is truly "above and beyond" in my view. Love the software, love the company!

I love it! Easy to use, and hasn't let me down in three years.
