Alden 38' Challenger yawl Rockport Harbor
Preparing for the Marion to Bermuda Race. A friend took this photo. I found the owner listed and entered for the race. Gregg Marston from Falmouth Maine. I wonder if he is a member here? Anyone have info on this boat or owner?

I initially thought this was a Challenger by the 'Jaguar port' shape, but could see it was not a centerboard boat. Looking into the Mistral data, I wonder if this in the sole Mistral finished by the Molich yard in Denmark? They would have the systems set up for this cabin from many Challenger builds.

Alden Caravelle 42 / Northern European waters
Hi Tom,

Great to see a photo of "Ti". She is Alden design #981G, finished in 1965 by Field Aircraft Services Ltd. (Marine Division), Wymeswold, Leicestershire, England. According to Alden records, she was initially used by the moulders, Halmatic, as a demo boat in England.

The photo is further proof that the majority of Mistrals had the wooden cabin trunk. But interestingly, #981A, "Carmina", has a fiberglass trunk, which I presume is the same mouding as used on the Alden Zephyr class.

Field Aircraft Services - who had the same parent company at Halmatic, Hunting Group - specialised mainly in fitting out the interiors of executive aircraft!

Because of the trunk variation I will add a category to that effect to the info at viewtopic.php?f=1&t=169

The list of Alden Mistrals still not accounted for during the life of this Forum is here, including some of the posts here by Gregg.
