Has anyone turned their 170 over in the yard and would it survive? would be an easy way to work on the bottom.

SURE!

Breadman, I have had no problem rolling the hull over. In order to clean and wax the bottom I beach the boat and drop the sail. You may want to remove the boom or else just keep an eye on it. It flops all over. Affix the main halyard shackle back to the mast pad eye. Pull it over using the main halyard. She rolls right over but will not stay down without tying the halyard onto a fixed object like a pier. Roll it over the other way to get the other side of the bottom. If you are doing this alone, you may want to also insert a prop just in case the halyard wanted to let go. She will roll upright in the blink of an eye. To be politically correct, use biodegradably cleaners beach side... I have never had to lift it off the trailer, so someone else will have to cover that topic if you want to do this in your front yard. Actually that would be a lot more convenient if someone has any ideas! Rusty
