I wanted to thank all of you that help make the restoration on my Cherubini 25 1976. The following is a list of things I did or replaced and places where parts can be sourced. I have been restoring my boat for the last 14 months. Sanded entire hull including topsides and antifouling, best to use an orbital sander. Dug out two small delaminated sections and glassed with two layers of fiber. Sealed all throughhulls, depth-sounder and "spaghetti strainer". Repaired gouge at the top of the bow to deck first with Marinetex and then glass. Removed all old striping with "Oops" and a flat razor blade. Painted topsides with Awlgrip and striped with white paint and masking tape. Tightend gap between hull and keel and filled with Marinetex, 5200 and glass. Polished all stainless steel with drill wheel and special wax. Sealed all portholes. Painted deck with non-skid paint. Sanded and sealed companion way door, I don't believe in keeping it natural, ugly! Replaced hand-rails and sealed, sourced in Thailand. Replaced tiller arm, the chandlery researched the measurements and custom made and now tiller arms are available for the 25. Repaired open end of boom by hand cutting wood and sanding to fit inside. Replaced interior cushions. Replaced all hulliner with a nice soft exterior marine quality carpet using contact cement, wow, the fumes were intense! Make sure to use a fan. Formica'd galley and pull-out table. Formica'd cabinets and replace doors with custom made teak lourved doors from Thailand (Teak Pete) only $60.00!! Cleaned corrosion on wires/electrodes using WD40, works well! Lemon oiled all teak, works nicely. Glassed a support on a shelf above one berth to secure. Replaced missing cabin steps with Chris Craft Mahogany deck steps found on ebay, almost a perfect fit! Replaced missing compass. Replaced missing main cabin light. Replaced old auto-bilge pump, and much more made easier because of this site, thank you.
