Well its positive my boat has drywood termites.. Got the little coffee ground looking fecal matter about here and there (seems to be primarily in the galley area) and have verified the wings and Aelates, have not seen any Soldiers as yet. Who has a proven (One Shot Prefferably) method for elimination? Help Quick. Knowing these things are in my boat gives Momma the heebee-jeebees and shes doing the la-freak. This is a boat now remember I know what to do on a house... you would call a professional. If thats what I need to do then be it. But if you have had this problem on your boat in a somewhat severe measure and got rid of them please post your cure ASAP.

Don't know if this would work but check your local hardware store, maybe an insect fogger would handle termites. Follow all directions on the label. Just make sure the batteries and shore power are completely disconnected plus remove all other sources of ignition!!!!! Remove the cushions and any other linens, curtains, etc. Open all drawers, cabinets, bilge covers - then set off the fogger and get out and close the companionway as quickly as possible.
Otherwise contact a local exterminator, they may be able to give you advice.

Dry Wood Termites

Yup.. not good ! For a house, they would put a large plastic bag over it and fog the inside .. for a boat, I'd guess, like Manny sez, that the fogger would do the trick. I would fog it twice without opening it.. and leave it closed for a few days afterwards to get maximum penetration.. You may have to do it again this summer to get any eggs that may remain.

Mooring or dock

Before you attempt any fumigation, are you on a mooring or tied to a wooden dock? What about your neighbors? If you fumigate you will just run the termites to the dock or other boats.

When the floods hit Lake Grapevine in the 80s, piles of floating FIRE ANTS ended up on the dock and my boat was infested with the little b@$~rds. I bought a canned fumigation deal at the hardware store. After removing the cushions, I pulled the tab and let the fume grenade go in the boat, and shut the boat. I came back the next week and vacuumed the remains. Good riddance.
