I recently bought a Hunter 26.5 and sent away for the manual for information on how much tension the shrouds should be under. The manual gave directions on how to step the mast. However, I am not sure what is meant by "medium" tension. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dorian, The best thing to do if you want to

understand the rigging tension procedure and values is to buy the proper size LOOS tension gauge for your boat from West Marine or others. (cost $45 to $50). Greg at Hunter Marine responded back to me by e-mail the same day with the specs for my H26. It's an easy job. Don't guess because going by the book will probably only get you within 50% of the right value unless your very, very good or outright lucky. Ray PS. I get $10 a pop to rent the tool for a weekend, that way I can get other goodies without begging from you know who.
