Hunter 260 Lake Carlyle, Illinois
Next spring we are planning on taking Grasshopper III - our 1999 Hunter 260 from Pickwick Lake to Mobile via the Tenn Tom waterway. This is a necessary portion of the LOOP that must be tackled if one is eventually going to say they 'did the LOOP!'. Anyway any suggestions from anyone? Most importantly - will we be able to make it with our mast UP? I believe our boat needs about 42' to 44' clearance on bridges ... is this doable?
Thanks,

Tenn Tom airdraft is 52 feet.

If doing the "LOOP" means returning to Missouri via the Mississippi, You might wish to consider a counter-clockwise rotation to have the Mississippi current on your side.

Kind regards

I believe my Army Corp of Engineers flyer said that the minimum guaranteed clearance was 49'. I believe that the first bridge at the beginning in Yellow Creek has only a 49' clearence.
