Temp gauge resistance range?

I am having the devils own time getting my temp gauge to work. The PO fitted a T to have both the temp sender switch and temp sender- but the gauge did not work.

I have replaced both, and measured impedance and I appear to get a range of something like 1363 Ohms when cold, and down to (so far) 700 when hot. But the gauge I bought which I thought was stock does not read this range.

Can anybody advise me on a gauge that does read this?

Thanks!

Standard range is 33-240 Ohm and your gauge and sender need to be on the same standard.

Edit: sorry was thinking oil pressure... You should see 30 - 440 Ohm +/- if you have US standard sender and gauge.. With the engine up to temp your sender should be reading approx 85-115 Ohm
