Telescoping Table Leg

We bought a table leg from a salvaged Catalina 34. We had hoped to be able to use it on our 1978 hull # 959, Catalina 30. The picture is from Catalina Direct.When I searched for a table leg, the site popped up and supposedly this leg should work on a Catalina 30. We don't think so as our bilge isn't that deep and it appears that the pole extension below the base would go down too far. Any thoughts on how to make this work on a Catalina 30.

what is it you want to do, and why talk to catalina direct when catalina yachts is still in business?

Those dimensions shown are "standard" and are the size found on my 320, I don't know how you could change the heights and bury depth after manufacture. Frankly, mine has never worked well and now barely works, it wants to creep up when lowered and can be a pain to lower when raised.
