Have rounded up all the safety gear and have new jack lines, harnesses and teathers. Now I need to install my pad eyes on the cockpit. I have two 5/16 folding pad eyes and have many locations were they could go. I am leaning toward middle of the cockpit so I can still move forward and back. Also I need easy access so I can install the backing plates without having to revert to many contorsions.

Before I start drilling more holes, I thought I ask y'all.

Were are your pad eyes located and why there.

Thanks

Jose

I installed one in the middle of the cockpit against a lazarette. This location allowed me to install a backing plate and provides access to the helm, all the sheets, head sail furler line, and winches, which are on the top of the cabin.
