This is my 1st time preparing my 1999 311 for a new season.
Bought the boat last August.
Would like to treat the teak on the seats in cockpit and swim platform.
I noticed on a new beneteau these surfaces seem to have a ploy/stain.
any suggestions?

Also over the winter the the floorboards have become uneven tight and don't fit right. could this be from the hull not being supported properly? will this be straightened out when we launch her next week?

The floor plates are probably suffering from the humidity which gets trapped inside over the winter and will likely shrink once they get some dry air. It's also possible it could be from deforming while on stands but you would probably notice the doors not closing properly if that were the cause.
Not familiar with what Bene uses for their teak look-alike wood but if it is real teak, it's probably something the yard or previous owner put on.

Hey Don, thanks for input.
Not a moisture problem.
I also see seperation between floor and cabnent.

the teak is inlaid on seats and swim platform.
Thanks

Honey Teak from Signature Finishes. You will get tons of compliments if you do it right. I had it on my 311 and it was a head turner. Unfortunately it appears everyone who currently owns my next boat prefers Cetol.

I agree. The floorboards will probably come back into shape once the temp/humidity get back to normal. You should keep several dehydrating buckets in the boat during storage to keep the moisture down. Hard to imagine a boat that short with the grid system like that distorting.

We used Cetol light - and it does look great. Need 3 coats.

I see folks putting a gloss finish on the deck and seating teak all the time. Just remember, it's teak for a reason - to give your feet plenty of friction on a rolling, wet deck. You make it glossy and you may be saving some teak at the cost of back surgery.

And I don't know how you refinish the gloss teak seating surface without taking some of the adjacent gel coat with it, or tearing/damaging the polysulphide caulk seal. And it is the water under it that lifts teak veneer.

I oil mine with teak oil and the occasional Coco-Lopez coconut oil. I also cover the seating area with a canvas tonneau.
