Teak restoration?

I am looking at buying my first sailboat (Catalina 27). Tape was used around the teak rails to keep the "Honey Teak" stain or varnish from spreading on the non-skid surface on top of the cabin. As luck would have it, this 2-part coating did spread. Is it possible to remove the stain from this non-skid surface without affecting the paint?

Cleaning up teak stuff

Is your cabin top actually gelcoat-over-fiberglass and not painted (over the original gelcoat)? If it is gelcoat, then acetone should work to remove the teak stain residue. Wipe it on with a rag, and clean the area with soap and water after all the junk is removed.
