I need to re-bed the handrails mounted on the cabin top. Does anyone know if they are they fastened with screws or bolts? If bolts, how do you access the nuts that would be between the cabin top and liner? I would prefer not to experiment. Thanx.

Screws

My 1981 H37C has screws. I would expect yours to be the same. Just rebedded my with no problems encountered.

Two methods of attachment for Hunter

1. The handrails are screwed into the cabin top. Look for plugs along the top of handrail. Remove with drill slightly smaller than plugs. 2. The handrails are attached with bolts thru the cabintop to nuts located under the headliner in the salon.

Believe you will find they are screws as Mark said. At least mine and the 77model next door were.Made and installed new rails last year.

wow, I bet that was fun. Were your other rails broke. Where did you find teak in that length to make new ones?

Glenn Teak rails

Original rails were so thin from refinishing that mounting screws were showing thru on sides.I found teak at exotic woods firm in Ormond Beach FL.10'x8"x5 quarter, enough to do two rails and main companionway slide caps was $97.Made with hole saw, sabersaw, router.Came out great, would post pictures but haven't mastered reducing digital prints to acceptable size yet.
