Hello All:

I am refinishing the teak and holly sole on my 386. There are a few places where I have dropped somrthing on the floor and created a dent that goes through the veneer and into the underlying wood.

Just curious if anyone knows of a stain, or something similar, that would match the original look of the teak sole. Only need a bit here and there to match the color prior to refinishing.

Thanks ! ........... Jeff

Man, you are so anal. Good thing that you don't own my boat! :)
Seriously though we have the same problem here at the condo. Whose idea was it to have it built with real wood for flooring? Fortunately there were some spare pieces that I could use to test colors on. Those little white marks disappear with the right stain. But I don't think the color is crucial as long as it is dark.

A little trick I learned. Put a moistened towel over the damage and put a hot iron on the towel. The steam will expand the crushed fibers of the wood and raise the dent.
