My floor was glued in parts, and today I finally glues the last 2 pieces, which have been loos for ever ( since I had the boat, 2 years ago)
Now my question: I want to sand it down and paint with a GOOD varnish.
What suggestions? I used Cetol last time for certain parts that are in contact with the outside world, and Helmsman Sparurethane inside, which was good enough, and it still looks like new
But have no idea what to use on the floor: then how many coats, and does it dry quick enough to put more than one coat the same day?
Will try not to paint myself into a corner... wait for the next posting... how do I get out of the corner...

I used Helmsman for many years before I put in the Lonseal. I never had any issues with it being slippery, at least with boat shoes. It was easy to keep up and refinish. Tough too.

My companionway ladder was done in 6 coats of Z-Spar Captain's Varnish about 5 years ago. In all the time of going in and out it's only started to look like it needs another coat or two since this past autumn. I sanded some of it to remove the screws and plug the holes and will coat it out again shortly. But I swear by Captain's and use it for just about everything. Also it has enough UV protection to preserve surfaces treated with WEST epoxy from the sun, which this ladder (and all my exterior woodwork) is.

And it's only about $25.99, compared to much more for those other things; and it spreads on and polishes up like a dream.

Sounds just like what I need: where do I get that?
