I am very proud to announce the birth of my first grandson on Tuesday, December 17th, 2002. I was by my daughter's side when little baby Preston was born. He was only 5 minutes old when I sat down beside him and began his first sailing lesson. Port - Starboard...Port - Starbord, as I raised up his little hands, one at a time. He actually turned his head, opened his eyes and looked at me in wonder..."who is this old salt?" This is gonna be lots of fun....I can't wait to take him on his first day sail aboard Elena Lua. What a Grand Christmas Present - Welcome, Preston

We have a 3 year old Grandson for whom I have the same hopes and dreams. I'm looking forward to sharing time and making memories as we tackle together the sea dragons and monster sharks of Lake Michigan. Ned and Tani Strain s/v "Family Therapy" 1995 h336 Chicago

Congrats!

Grandchildren and sailing, what a great combination! We have four(one boat) and a recently married daughter. Maybe more coming? Hope your holiday season is a happy one.

Future Sailor

When a baby is born, there are a lot of things that parents and grand parents hope they will become...doctors, lawyers, firemen, nurses, sports figures, maybe even the President of the United States, who knows what they will be when they grow up. There's one thing I'm pretty sure of that will stick with them if you teach them young, and that is the joy of sailing. I thank everyone here for their kind words of congratulations.
