tartan vs. catalina?

Can anyone contrast a Catalina with a Tartan (27/30)?In a general sense I would consider a Catalina a cruiser first, while I would consider a Tartan a racer more then a Catalina. Would you concur?Also, is it safe to assume a racer is ususally going to be more tender?Thanks.

Chevy and Cadalac

I consider a Tartan a high end cruiser, not a racer. But any boat can race. Look at the J Boat if you want to see a racer. Tartan is about three or even four steps above a Catalina. Just my opinion.Paul
