Hey Everyone,

Good morning, fellow sailors! I've been working on restoring out Ship's Tartan 30 named Flyin' Anne; she used to race, but she hasn't been sailed properly since the late 90s; I had her hauled out and gave her a hull job just five months ago, and now that she's back in the water at the marina, I really need to crack down on getting this restoration done. I don't have any pictures, unfortunately, but I can say that the teak needs to be redone and the fiberglass on the outside of the cabin is getting quite thin. I'll probably get on that first, but I'm planning to go somewhere to purchase new running rigging. Is there anyone in the Kemah-Galveston area who knows of somewhere I could get running rigging and not pay a few thousand bucks for it?

SS. I have found line with Marine names like
Samson, New England, Yale, and others at rigging shops. These are businesses serving the tree climbing and industrial lifting needs. Often their cutoff bin has lengths of rope that is too short for their industry but just right for a sail boat. Bonus the line cost. Sometimes $.30 on the dollar. Worth checking it out.

Every January Annapolis Performance Sailing has a line sail, I think it is 20% this year. And SBO may have what you are looking for. Defender and Hamilton marine often have odds and end pieces at a deep discount, but product will be limited.

Keep an eye on WM. They just had a Black Friday sale at 50% off and usually in spring time frame run similar sales. Also call Hayes rigging (Kevin) in Kemah. They did my standing rigging and may match prices you get online for RR and have a local company provide quicker. Finally SBO as previously mentioned has competitive prices as another point of reference
