We bought a new Hunter 33 this spring. The Snake River tank level indicating unit never worked with the waste tank level from day 1. The waste tank level always read close to full inspite of emptying the tank, recalibrate, filled with fresh water, recalibrate. Still reads close to full and stay there after the macerator runs dry. The fuel tank seems to read alright for the first month or so and then started reading low. It was reading right when I was fueling from the same gas station but started reading low when fuel was added from other stations. Fresh water tank still reads okay but we have been surprised with no water one time when the indicator reads 40%. The waste tank and fuel tank are aluminum so there is no way of seeing what the level actually is or what the sensing mechanism is. Can only see wires going in from the top. The fresh water tank is plastic with matel strips on the side for sensing so must be capicitance principle. Have been talking to Hunter factory and will be bringing the boat in for warranty work in the next few weeks but wonder if anybody else have any experience on this problem? Thanks, Oliver.

Contact Snake River directly

Your problem sounds like an installation error...several people recently have had problems with Hunter OEM installations. So I think you'll have better luck finding out just what the problem is and how to correct it directly from Snake River than you will from your dealer. Plus, Snake River needs to know so they can help Hunter correct whatever they're doing incorrectly. 'Cuz when installed correctly, the system works flawlessly for literally decades unless corrosion or other wiring issues not directly related to the system itself occur.

Snake River tank sensor problems

We bought our Hunter 33 this July and also had problems with the Snake River tank level indicating unit. Our dealer replaced both the fuel and waste sensors. Everything seems to be working now, although I also observed on at least one occasion that the water level guage indicated about 1/3 full when it was empty. Check through the archives... I noticed that other Hunter owners have had similar problems with the Snake River unit.

Thanks!

Thanks for the responses. Will see what the warranty work is like. I am encouraged that the system can work with new sesors replaced for the waste tank and the fuel tank.
