Tank cap for Thetford ca 1979

I have a Thetford porta-potti that was original equipment (I think) in my 1979 S2. Its in good order except one of the tank caps is broken. The rubber gaskets in the caps have gotten hard with the years and so it was over torqued to get it to seal and - crack!.

I called Thetford, they couldn't tell me if their current tank caps would work. They suggested I compare it to a cap on a current model at Walmart. Unfortunately my local superstore doesn't have them.

The cap I have is 3 3/8" ID. The inside cap depth is 3/4". The threads are flat on one side.

If anyone has a late model Thetford and can tell me if the caps are like mine, I'll order new ones. Thanks!

if is model 875 or 850 i have extra one--where can i send it once i get back to san diego--wont be until july--is that ok???? i think even the 750 series is same--not certain--mine is plumbed into my ericson....so i donot need the caps.....i could have someone mail it to you if i knew where to send it.....pm me.......kd

Try an RV or camping store. Also, maybe some PVC cap at Lowes might fit that?

Hey zeehag, I suppose I can wait till July, but if I knew for certain the caps on the new models would fit, I'd just order a couple from Thetford. If I don't come up with something, I'll let you know. THANKS for the offer.

i never plan to have extra but i never fail to have an extra of these,,,,,lol...coool...it will still be there
