anyone using tacktic? I am thinking of buying these but the local technition wants to sll me Raymarine st60's. These seem so simple to put on and use vs all those wires. T

Why do you need a tech.? The wireless units are great. The quality unit is way better than Raymoron. Then again just about anything is. If you get the idea I am not a fan of the Ray stuff you are so correct.
I am a reitred EE and can tell you Raymoron is overpriced Their customer support is spotty at best. The tech you are referring to probably wants future business fixing the Rayjunk.
There are more and more people switching over to TackTic and I hear about 90 perecent
good results. Last year I took off the Raystuff (came with boat and broke) and installed TackTic. It is also hooked into my autopilot (not Raymoron) and my GPS again not the ray stuff. It all interfaced flawlessly using Nema not SeaTalk. If you are stuck with other Raymoron stuff you will have to get a box to convert the Seatalk to Nema

I think that the TackTic wireless units would be the way to go because you have no wires to run through the mast (if it is for windspeed) and that eliminates a few problems that could happen.
I may put one of the units on My catalina 30 someday if I keep it long enough and don't trade up to something bigger

I have the Tacktic T033 Wireless Wind System since last Nov. and I am really happy with it.
very easy to install and calibrate,
top mast unit is solar power so I assume some day I will need to change batteries.
display unit is 12V, have light for night sailing, don't know for how long it will last during the night, so far I have used it during night sailing for about 3 hr.
