Tachometer sender

Hi people

Does anyone know where is located the tachometer sender on the YSM8?
I want to install one in my engine to avoid future problems again... but can't locate the place to "screw" the sender... the wires are all includes in the original setting...

If have picture or drawing would be a great help.

Look in your Yanmar manual for mounting location and find a Yanmar dealer to buy one. I thought of adding the sensor to my YSM2 but went with a TinyTach instead.

Typically, the tach is fed from a connection off your alternator. Bob

the tiny is connected to the fuel line right? Does it work ok? And can it be installed in the cockpit?

Yanmar has a inductive sensor that counts the teeth on the ring gear and interfaces with thier tachometer. Not the inacurate aftermarker alternator stuff.

The Tinytach "diesel" counts the injector pulses. Simple and reliable, best thing since sliced bread.
