Tachometer Installation

Hello All:
I have an MD6-A in VESPER, V#1868, but it has no tachometer.
Has anybody ever installed one on their Volvo Diesel?
Please respond for the whole group to see, as I am probably not the only
one.

Hi All

The MD6A and MD7A can have a tacho. I installed one on my last one. It will need the tacho pick-up that bolts onto the camshaft cover towards the rear of the engine. If you are interested I will take some photos when I see my Vega in a weeks time. I actually then built a small circuit to change the pulses into an analogue voltage to drive a small meter I had. Nothing rocket science but needs a little electronic knowledge. Teh other way is to buy the real Volvo tacho but costs an arm and a leg...
