Table Modification Hunter 26

I have seen a photo of a modification of the dining table on the Hunter 26. However, I am considering removing the table and using some kind of folding table that could also be used for a bed. The table seems too large for the boat and restricts use of the forward area. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? What would be the proper method of removing the table?
