Hi Carol

The best bet for the table legs is to get one copied. I can get that done
in the UK but I expect the postage would be a bit prcey...

There is one Vega with a wheel in Sweden but it looks very strange but it
can be done

Does anyone know where I can get the legs for the table that came
with the 76 vega? I don't even know what they look like so it makes
it hard to duplicate them.
Also, one question. Has anyone changed from the tiller to a wheel? I
an just curious.

I knew of one Vega in La Paz that had a wheel. The new owners were changing
back to a tiller. Wheels are for driving, tillers are for sailing. A lot to
be said for being able to sit under the dodger when nasty stuff is coming
across the top of the boat. I have one memory of being on the helm of an
Islander 36 in some rather snotty conditions and looking at my fellow crew
members smiling at me from under the dodger. The table legs were stainless
tubes. They went up about 2 feet, made a 45 degree bend, went for another
foot or so and made another 45 degree bend and then went up for about 8
inches. The tubes went in to the sockets in the cabin sole or the cockpit
sole. The table sockets were off set so you could pivot the table over the
port settee to get it out of the way when going forward. I think the tubing
was 25mm but 1" stainless should work. Walt, Lyric #120

I'll photograph the table legs either if you'd like to see them and then have the pipe bent to match the photos. .I don't know where they can be purchased. If you'd like to have the pictures please respond.
