Does anyone know what the hardware on the 1984 O'Day 222 table was called. They are metal tracks. One was in the cockpit, and one on the cabinet which allowed you to move the table and slide it onto these "tracs." Sure would like to know what they are called, and where I can find them. Rudy gave me the name of a company that was making them for O'Day back in the day, but have not heard back from them, nor can I find the parts on their website. Thanks.

Which table design does your boat have? Aparently O'DAY used 2 different ones, your 1984 sounds like it has the first version. That one looks to have had a folding table that was made "in-house" at O'DAY or was specially built for them. Later boats had a smaller table on an "L" shaped leg that fit into a black plastic socket on the main, cabin bulkhead as well as a second on the aft bulkhead of the bridge deck in hte cockpit. I'll attach a pic from the 1984 Brochure of that original design. Actually, first pic is one that I found online of another 222, I also included a pic of the 2nd type of table.

Not sure if any of this really helps?

Would a picture of the under side of the table help you? How about the mount? I tried searching the company that manufactured that table and was unsucessful in finding any information on it. I do have this table on my boat though.

JAMAPO6, pictures of your setup (brackets) would help us answer.

Joe, I think he has an earlier table setup than what is on your boat, at least I wouldn't describe your table to mount on "tracks" based on the pictures that yo uhave posted in the past. I'd describe your setup as a "socket". Apparently, the original table design on hte 222 was a removeable plywood table that folded (not against the bulkhead like on bigger boats, but the design of the table was similar) when not in use and had a leg to hold up the end not attached to the bulkhead. Again, pictures of JAMAPO6's cabin would probably help.

I've never seen a table like that one on a 222 Rod. It looks like it's pretty stable and larger than the one that came with my boat.

Joe, also more $$ to build I suspect<GRIN!> hence the change to the table that you have. I like this earlier table, but don't have a feel for how practical it was........ might have taken up too much room?
The CAL 22 (not to be confused with the 1970-74 CAL 21) that was also built at the O'DAY plant in the mid-1980's had the same table as you have.
It appears to be an "off-the-shelf" item?

We made our own for our CAL 21. using the Companionway slide. We only used it in the cockpit, but I thought about adding another set of brackets inside the cabin to allow using it there (never did do that though). See pics below.

The table in my boat isn't too bad as long as you don't bump into it with drinks set upon it. It has small fiddles around it that keeps things from rolling off it. I often set it up in the cockpit and eat out there when I'm on my boat.

The table that my Dad made for our CAL 21 was fine as long as no one leaned on one of the inboard corners! We all learned quick, especially since hot soup was one of our common meals, although even hot dogs taste better in your mouth than your lap! Still, it was a pretty good table.
