Has anyone added a "Leaf" onto the table in the cabin for the person sitting on the starboard side?
Not one that is attached to the back of the sink cabinet but actually a fold able leaf to the salon table.
Wife is planning..... Sounds like work...;)

Not sure what you are describing there; Hull 147 has a small table with 4 cup holders for "daily" use and a larger one stored on the starboard side of the aft "cabin". Have a picture of your cabinet unit?

I have seen this table on a late model boat but was searching recently and was unable to find it. Called Catalina but no luck. It was a drop leaf small (10" x 10"?) teak table attached to the back of the sink. Very clever and I wanted to make one but have struck out so far. Can anyone find a picture?

I made a table top that fits over the cocktail table and is held in by an insert that fits in the inside space once the plastic cover, with the handles, is removed. We then use a collapseable chair on the starboard side.

I think Alan is talking about extending the large factory table to reach the starboard settee. I haven't seen that but would recommend the TV table. We ditched the factory table and only use a TV table. Love the extra space.

But the idea of a drop down table on the back of the sink sounds interesting. See the photo for the area I am talking about. Funny. I was just thinking about that 5 minutes ago while making coffee and then sat down to check the forums and found this thread

Rereading Alan's post you are correct. I was talking about the space in your picture. BTW, we both have the white leather interior-love it!

Love the white leather interior too.

On the extra table, I also think it would be nice to be able to have an extension next to the sink, over the utensil storage. But can't quite figure out how to do either without it being in the way.

My wife and I have been thinking about this. We decided that we do not have that many people over often enough to justify the expense or the work to make the starboard side part of the dining. We will just sit there ourselves and use our laps.
We are considering putting drop leaves on the big table so it will be bigger than the small one and be able to expand for company. Any thoughts on that???

I believe at that point, if it were us I would consider a slide out extension for the starboard seat. Sure it would be slightly lower than the main table but out of the way no problem.

That said, we don't even have the table on the boat any longer. For us we just use the little table, and if we have people over to eat, we eat in the cockpit. (98% of the time) so it is never an issue. We like the open space of having the table gone. We were thinking of a slide out under the chart table for extra space when cooking, but the shape gives some issues.

(we also have the door to the forward cabin removed as it was always hitting our extra thick mattress, and in the way to get to the hanging locker and drawers. Were now thinking maybe a curtain. (I know there are plans to make this a bi-fold, but I can't find a local wood worker willing to take on the risk of sawing the teak.

I have a C309 and it came with a table that would expand so we could sit 5 for a meal from both settees but it is a beast to remove an store in the aft cabin, too heavy and awkward to handle. First I took the hinge off to cut the size in half, but even that was a pain to store when we made up the berth. So like many others I built a cocktail size table and it works great, don't miss the full table at all. The full table has been taking up space in my garage for the last 6 years where it will stay until I sell the boat. Lap tables work well for guest meals.

Hi All & Happy New Year.

I've thought this through until I finished a bottle of rum and it is a puzzle. The little table off the back of the sink doesn't work. It gets in the way of the seating area. I tried several setups but to no avail.

When it come to an extension (slide out or fold up) for the large table, the distance from the port seats to the table is considerable. The extension would be quite a large piece. Very heavy and not that easy to store. If anyone can solve this problem You'll win a Boating OSCAR.

Cheers

I appreciate everyone's input, at this point, since we do NOT have alot of folks on an regular basis, I am leaning toward the TV table, not only is it lighter/easier to take off and put on but for those longer just me and you trips it can be removed off the boat. BUT i will share everyone's thoughts with the admiral as it was her request!
