FOLIE A DEUX I bought Folie last season. Slight problem on survey. 2
minor cracks on tabernacle side flanges (Hinging mast) During winter
want to remove tabernacle from roof over bulkhead approx. The bolts are
8 in all only 2 nuts on show inside cabin are the remainder captive
when I remove them? Anyone removed a tabernackle before?

Hi Derek

Those two small cracks have been there since I've known Folie (7 years) ! I wouldnt bother about the cracks personally. If worried then take the mast off and get a portable stainless welder to weld the cracks.

If you remove the tabernacle then I expect the other end of the bolts will be hidden where the mast support beam is fitted. I doubt if the bolts use captive nuts. Make sure you remove the mast before start on the tabernacle!

Thanks for advice Steve, I will get a welder to call whilst boat is out of water and mast is down. Presently in hardway sailing club compound. Do you recommend anyone in Gosport? Regards, Derek
