Tabernacle for an O'Day 25
I'm just curious Steve. Are you planning on lowering your mast everytime you go under this particular bridge to get out of the harbor? If so, I'd pass this dock up. It's just too much work to have to do with a 25. Rudy Nickerson of D & R, sells Dyer mast hinges that would work on your boat. Still, you'd have to use your mast raising/lowering rig that came with your boat to let your mast down over the bow with the aid of your boom as a Gin Pole. I built a Gin Pole for my mast that enables me to let my mast down toward the stern, using a 4:1 boom vang with an extra long line on it. Although I haven't tried doing it with my CDI Roller Furler attached to it, I'm very confident that it will do it with no problem. I sail an O'Day 222 and my mast is 27 feet. Regardless of what technique you plan to use, mast raising/lowering is a job that you would only want to do twice a year.Joe
